Open year round, the Lost Trail Lodge is a scant 4 mile hike, ski or snowshoe up Coldstream Canyon. The lodge is located six miles northwest of Squaw Valley and four and a half miles northeast of Truckee. Rooms are available at individual or group rates. Sandy and I stayed at the lodge with the Tahoe Donner Cross Country Ski Club (several photos have Jerry Blackwell who joined us that weekend). We had an enterprising snowmobiler haul our cooler of food and bags with clothes while we leisurely skied the 4 miles to the lodge. The views are great. The lodge is just a great way to relax and enjoy life. At the time the owner was a blue grass player and enjoyed jamming if you brought your musical instrument. In the summer the lodge sponsors a blue grass festival.
